Afterglow recognized as an Official Burning Man Regional Event!
The Vancouver Regional Contacts are happy to announce that we have just received notification from the Burning Man Organization that Afterglow has been approved as an Official Burning Man Regional Event.

Receiving this status is an honour, and we want to ensure that everyone feels included and is invited to participate, so that Afterglow will indeed be a radically inclusive community event. Read on below for Erik’s callout for participation and visit the website to figure out where you fit in.

This status allows the Production team to utilize trademarked words such as Burning Man and Decompression to assist in their outreach to the broader burner community. The RCs are tasked with ensuring that the event promises to fulfill the requirements for an official event, and we will continue to follow the event’s progress up until the event wrap up report is completed.

We would also like to acknowledge BurnBC in their efforts to produce a fall Decompression event, and look forward to supporting their future endeavours.

Congratulations to the Afterglow Production Team and to our community for making this possible.

A celebration of art, music, fire and community!

The wheels are in motion… there is much to do, and we need your help! The following includes important information about Tickets, Volunteer opportunities, Art Grants and Shuttle buses…

Tickets are now on sale!

Volunteers Needed!
We still need some volunteers for the following key lead positions:

  • Transport Coordinator – in charge of scheduling trucks, pick ups, deliveries, returns
  • Shuttle Bus Coordinator- in charge of scheduling and managing ticketing for busses
  • Electrical – In charge of arranging the power requirements for all installations in the venue.
  • Communications /Social Media – Helping with updates and communicating info to the community
  • RV Liaison – Coordinating the RV parking at the venue

Art Grant Deadline – October 28th!
Are you an artist or performer in need of financial assistance to create a new piece of art for the event, or just need help in getting an existing piece to the event?
October 28th is the deadline for new art grants, so make sure you apply before then!
For existing pieces, the deadline is November 9th if you need transportation assistance!

Shuttle Buses!
It’s easy to get to the event and not have to worry about driving.. Shuttle buses will be running to and from the event from Vancouver for the low price of only $15 return!  Buy your shuttle bus ticket when you purchase your event ticket!  There will be a pick-up and drop-off both Downtown and at Park Royal
