Reminder & Show of Hands for Ranger Training
We are looking forward to seeing many of you, this Saturday Feb 9th.
12 noon – 5pm.
China Creek Coop, Common Room 1230 East 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC
Show of hands!
We’d really appreciate a show of hands to make sure we have enough room/chairs for all of you who intend to be there! Could you please chime in on this thread on Facebook & reconfirm your attendance?
It’ll really help us know whether we need to reach out more actively, or if 32 Going & 65 Maybes are all gonna show up!
If you are not on Facebook and/or prefer to RSVP by email: [email protected]
Ranger Andrew and Delyse
Burning Man Tickets: PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED NOW UNTIL SUNDAY!
Wanna go to Burning Man? Want a ticket?
There is a 3-step process for buying tickets this year:
Step 1. Create a Profile at http://profiles.burningman.
You will get an email immediately stating:
“Burner Profile registration information
OK, you’ve completed the first step in establishing your Burner Profile. Click on the link below and log in with the username and temporary password. We recommend you reset your password.
IMPORTANT: You must complete your Burner Profile and provide all required information in order to get access to Burning Man ticket sales – simply signing up for an account DOES NOT GET YOU ACCESS TO TICKET SALES.”
Step 2. OPEN UNTIL THIS SUNDAY ONLY: Register your profile for the individual sale
Go back to http://profiles.burningman.
Confirmation screen will say:
“Thank you! You have requested access to the Individual Ticket Sale on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, starting at 12pm (noon) PST. You will receive a confirmation email within 24-36 hours (allowing us time to remove known scalpers and those who have already bought tickets in the Directed Group Sale). This email will contain a link to the sale and your unique pass code for accessing the sale.”
So even if you get in the queue on the last day of registration (this Sunday) you will still receive your pass code before the tickets actually go on sale as first come first serve on Feb 13.
Step 3. Hit reload furiously on Wed Feb 13 at noon.

Call for Makers is Now Open
Vancouver Mini Maker Faire is a community-run event aimed at bringing together Makers, Doers, and Creatives for a weekend of sharing knowledge, inspiring each other, exhibiting projects, and community building.
It showcases the amazing work of all kinds and ages of makers – anyone who is embracing the do-it-yourself (or do-it-together) spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience.
Vancouver Mini Maker Faire: June 1 & 2, 2013, PNE Forum
Call for Makers Closes: March 25th, 2013
Acceptance Emails sent: April 15, 2013
Fire & General Safety Plans Due: April 30, 2013
The first step to participating in Maker Faire is to submit an entry that tells us about yourself and your project. Entries can be submitted from individuals and groups such as hobby clubs and schools. We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things. Questions? Email Jenny, the Maker Co-ordinator at [email protected]
